Would like to know where to find the recipe for Ganache that was in one of the presentations today.

I wanted the Sea glass one so bad! But I bought a bowl-lift Professional series KA TSV mixer 8 years ago. Just after the warranty expired, it started giving me trouble. Going extra fast (faster than the fastest speed on the mixer) and then it would quit. I'd have to let it cool off and try again. It kept on until it finally just quit for good. That's a lot of money to put into a mixer to have it last such a short time. I loved that thing while it lasted though. It was a real work horse. Like having an extra pair of hands in the kitchen. I always said if there was a fire, I was grabbing it on my way out! But ladies, don't wish for your old KA's to die. Trust me, they do not make them like they used to! You might not have the pretty colors but you have the real work horses.

My DIL's all have a KA, having been given them as wedding gifts. After 45 years without, I guess I can't figure out just what I'd do with one. I love to cook, but hate to bake, so maybe I wouldn't use it much. Baking is too exactingl for me, I think of recipes as "suggestions" and just like to wing it.

The KA's were certainly pretty though!

I ordered the Toffee Sparkle early, and I see its out for delivery today!!!

All the colors were lovely, but there was something about the toffee, and I figured it would pretty much go with any kitchen I may have in the future.

Qgirl, did you call kitchenaid, the company? I, too, bought a professional lift mixer from their website years ago. Great deal...about 3 yrs in i noticed the mixing wouldnt pick up from the very bottom of the bowl. I called them and they walked me thru how to adjust with a screwdriver. Worked great afterward. Maybe they can resolve ur issue with a call to their office. I couldnt have been happier!

Laurel013, my husband looked into it and it needed parts replaced. We were going to have to send it at our cost to one of their centers to even get it looked at and get an estimate of what it would cost to fix it. Then we'd have to pay for labor and parts, since it was out of warranty and also pay to have it sent back to us. That thing is so heavy so I can only imagine what the shipping cost each way alone would be, let alone add in all the rest. DH has always been an excellent do-it-yourself guy so he took it apart to check out the problem. He bought 2 parts off of Amazon to fix it, cost about $60 and he put the parts on. The mixer worked about 2 more weeks, then the same symptoms flared up and it died again. He wants to try to buy parts for it again, thinking one or both of those parts we got were bad, but I'm a little apprehensive about it. I'm thinking there might be even more wrong. I think we got a lemon so I would give Kitchenaid another try. I really loved using mine. It was a huge help in the kitchen and I have missed having it, even after only having had a working one for such a short time.
