I just ordered a new dual-fuel range from a locally-owned appliance store.  I was given a 3- month window from order to time of delivery.  Does anyone have any recent experience with purchasing a new range?  Is this a reasonable length of time nowadays?

It really depends on the store. I imagine a locally owner store doesn't keep a lot of inventory and orders items as needed.

I waited over 6 months for a new stove 3 yrs ago. Got our stove in 2021. Had to wait until 2022 to get the GE Profile refrigerator I wanted.

Did you shop around to see if this was an average wait time for that mfg/model?

That will tell you if it's supply chain issues or they're just holding on to your ca$h.

I bought a new Bosch dishwasher last November and it took about 2 weeks, from Lowes.  My friend just bought a new fridge from Home Depot and had it in a week.

I did do some comparison shopping at a couple locally-owned stores and a few big-box stores.  Delivery times quoted were generally 8-10 weeks at all stores.  The main determinants of where I purchased were reasonable price and a reputable service/installation department.

The locally-owned store that got my business matched the big-box price, but charged $90 for delivery/installation.  Since their service department is known throughout the community as the place to call for appliance repairs (people call them to service brands that they don't even sell), they were my choice.

@deepwaterdotter  I would stick with the local if I could handle the wait.  I would make sure the invoice indicates it's a new item with warranty, and not an open box, floor sample, or scratch and dent.  My best guess is the delay is that they need to go out and buy it, and who knows where they will find it.  But if there is a problem, you know you can find them.  And I would make sure this is not a store that looks like it may close due to lack of business.  I find big purchases like this is best to go with a reliable retailer.

Re: Delivery Time for New Range

I just remodeled my kitchen and got all new higher end appliances. Since we were deep in renovating I really didn't need my appliances soon. It took about 6 monts to receive my new 48" Blue Star dual fuel oven matching refrigerator and my 2-drawer dishwasher. They were well worth the wait! LOVE! Heart
