Debbie Meyer green box -- if wash produce beforehand?

Has anyone ever washed their produce BEFORE putting it in the green boxes?  (I know she recommends after.)

Any tips if pre-washing?

Thanks!

I have them.  Don't wash before storing.  I take out what I need and then wash it.  I didn't care for the green boxes at all.  Never had any luck with them.  Now i just use them for leftovers.

I don't wash either before I put anything in them.   Certain things hold up better in the green bags than green boxes IMO.   I like lettuce in the bags, but strawberries and blueberries in the boxes.

Personally I don't wash any produce before storing it, no matter the method.  Moisture just doesn't help anything.  You can't get it dry, really.

@Julie_23 I completely agree with @nyc1's post and I also add a paper towel or two in with my lettuce as it helps make it last longer . . . Smiley Happy

It will store better longer if you wash it as you use it. The moisture will make it mold faster & get slimy.

When I buy red grapes I take them all off the stem & put in one of the green bags. All I have to do is rinse them off when I want to eat some.
