First off, I like David. He is warm and funny. However, lately he seems rushed and distracted. He gets names wrong and doesn't seem to know what product is next . He's talking very fast and relying on set phrases. Do you think he has too many irons in the fire and it's showing?

All I can say is I enjoy David and I don't have a problem with anything you stated.

I've noticed it, too, Chessylady, whenever I've watched his show in the past few months. (Hey, I like kitchen shows!)

To NOT make this into a David bashing thread (I sure couldn't talk 4 hours straight, so I admire any of the hosts pulling it off regularly!), he just seems a little...burnt out?

I blame it on the repetition of products the hosts are presenting. I mean, how can you get excited about presenting Temp-Tations and Vitamix for the umpteenth time?

I rarely watch ITKWD. I did watch last Wednesday when there was a different host. The whole show seemed quite relaxed and informative. I really enjoyed it.

Today, DH wanted me to watch the kitchen show. We have between us a total of six weddings coming up between April 20th and the end of June. Two of the weddings are second marriages, and DH thought I might see something new that these couples didn't already have.

Truthfully, it was torture. David is speed speaking worse than I remember. I did notice that he seems "off". I guess distracted is a good word for it. Unlike sparklestar, I agree with what you said. Frankly, it made me nervous to watch him. I did notice that somewhere around the middle of the show he seemed to be covering up some indigestion. I wonder if he ate a bit too much. Maybe he just wasn't feeling well today. I haven't seen him for several months, so I noticed a definite weight gain. His chin has disappeared into a sea of chubby. I have no idea how many irons he has in the fire, so I can't speak to that.

I used to enjoy David before he was crowned kitchen king, "wrote" a cookbook, went on other television shows (I never saw them), etc. I have no idea what has brought about the changes in him, but I wish he could go back to the way he used to be. He's too ego driven for me now. I won't watch again, and unfortunately didn't find anything in today's show for wedding gifts.

Before you start calling me a liar, and screaming that I'm a David hater, don't waste your time. You've done all this before, and all you've done is amplify my feelings.

I think everyone should be able to voice his or her opinion. People need to stop apologizing for some of the things they say.

There are two ways to say something. I didn't see where the OP said anything other than her opinion that she enjoyed other Hosts.

Another poster was just trying to understand why SHE felt David was "off" today (if he was, I don't know). Other people have voiced similar opinions, good and bad.

I also don't watch him long or often but a couple weeks ago, I noticed a vendor would explain something about his product then David would turn around and ask a question that the vendor had just answered. He either hadn't heard the vendor or wasn't paying attention. If he ever reviews tapes of his shows, I'd think he'd be embarrassed.

David needs to switch to decaf and take up yoga or walking to help with stress....he seems very stressed-out for whatever reason but his health could be in at risk... he is not as young as he used to be...time to treat himself better!

I was watching him a little today and to tell the truth, I was getting an upset stomach.

He was running around, talking fast, spinning around, doing the happy dance.

All the while eating bite after bite of meatloaf, banana cream pudding, lobster, Corky's ribs, mac and cheese, etc.

I'm sure there was a lot more and a lot after I watched.

I kept waiting for him to puke.

He should be careful or he might choke.

I do like David, but I think that maybe he should tone it down a little, just for his own good.
