Yikes!  Thanks for the warning.  I can handle some JRT but this one - no way.

He sure seems to get WAY more than 4 weeks off every year.  It's like he works a week and is off a week, works a week, off a week. Almost seems to be gone more than he's there.

I wonder what constitutes a "weeks" work for thse hosts?

For many workers, a week is a 40 hour shift..I cannot imagine  TV host would be able to host for 8 hours a day..though it is a 7 day  week, 24 hour  day "work week", theoretically, so a week might be what? one 4 hour shift 5-7 times  a week? Ten 2 hour shifts? i have never really paid much attention, but I do know that being off one one Sunday( like David sometimes is) might seem like he is off a "week" to us, but in reality, he may only be off for a few  days..it just happens to fal on the day we are used to seeing him, so it SEEMS like a week to us..

Wonder what IS an average on air week for them? I do know they have to do a large amount of research etc off air to prepare, besides their shifts...

Of course, in THIS cse it is definitely a week,, meaning at lest 7 dys...

I don't know what the average on air time is - maybe 3 or 4 3-4 hour shifts?  But remember, they work a lot off air, too.  Meetings about new products, show prep, working with vendors - these are just some of the things I hear them talk about.  I think I've heard them say they have to be at the studio 3-4 hours before their on-air shift starts.  My guess is they work at least 40 hours week, and it's quite possible they work more than 40 hours.
