I think he is a nice guy; loves his mom, is polite and loves food----but I can only watch him for short bursts-----and never for 5 hours-----but then I can't watch most of the hosts for more than a few minutes----just not my thing anymore.

I enjoy him and feel he is kind and a gentleman . He is always polite to vendors and callers. There is one male host that I rarely watch (unless I am very interested in product presented ) because he seems so rude at times.

As far as being a "robot" I can not think of any job I have had that at times I did not carry on as a robot . I think that is why it is called a job . Smiley Happy

David is easily my favorite male host although sometimes I wish he would drop the happy dance routine.   I tend to favor the female hosts more than the male anyhow.  If I had to pick a favorite female I would go with Mary Beth.  It used to be Jill and Mary Beth but now it is down to Mary Beth.   For a time there were two newer ones that I was liking more and more but both gone now.  They were Cathy P. and Mary Nelson.

He knows most of it like the back of his hand - as the old saying goes..............much of the time David is in 'robot' stage .....colors - q-card - easy pay - your opportunity - don't miss out on this.....gone when gone.

I actually think they hypnotize David - and put him out there.

It seems that in the early days of QVC, the hosts all came from broadcasting backgrounds. They were trained to make a connection with the camera and their voices were professional and a pleasure to listen to.  When I turn on a show presented by one of these hosts,  I am drawn in and often find myself watching longer than expected.

I think most of the newer hosts were chosen because they have pretty faces and retail backgrounds. Unfortunately, some of their voices make my ears bleed and I can't change the channel quickly enough. They seem like lovely people, but this can't be good for sales.

I like David because he's fun and easy to listen to. While I certainly wouldn't categorize him as a saint, I think he's a consummate professional. It's going to be a sad day when the older hosts start retiring.

I started watching the Q 25 yrs ago and enjoyed most of the hosts and products. Today, they all look and sound alike --- SELL, SELL, SELL. The products are also BORING!!!!! They're all salespeople --- reading scripts!!!!!

@Diamond Gal I am seriously wondering if he is ill. He seem to fall a sleep standing up at times. And he is lucky now to have an assistant now. He just looks dark circled under his eyes and peekeded.I think he has slowed some of his eating down at times.I just have a strange feeling about his health.

I  think David is the best of all hosts on QVC and HSN>  I hope he is paid well.  I sure would miss him if he left.

David is typical of a true Southern gentleman.
