I actually think they hypnotize David - and put him out there.

He's been selling the same stuff for 10 years. If he didn't know the products I'd not know what to tell 'ya! ![]()

wonder if he still goes to those big home shows that's just for business people showing all the new gadgets. I'd go wild in there ! LOL
Not open to the public shows

I like him a lot too.
I got to meet him and his mother at a Barnes and Noble for his signing for his cookbook.
He was very gracious to everyone.

@Diamond Gal I personally think David is a "salesman"; nothing more and nothing less. How long he is on the air is between him and QVC management. I really don't care.

One thing that might make his long hours on air more bearable is..........he gets to eat food during the show!!
Not a bad job if you can get it.

I like David and the kitchen shows, but a "saint"?
He is doing his job. Yes he is good at it and does a good job but a saint? No dont think so there are many, many people that work overtime, holidays and weekends.

David's one of my favorites. He knows his subject matter and is considerate of viewers. Those hawking cookbooks must be over the moon when he breaks out in his happy dance after tasting their offerings.
But if he's a "robot," so is every other host. Here's the thing...they all have their tried-and-true expressions when it comes to selling merchandise. And that's going to happen after decades of on-air selling. Especially when it's the same stuff lol.

It seems that in the early days of QVC, the hosts all came from broadcasting backgrounds. They were trained to make a connection with the camera and their voices were professional and a pleasure to listen to. When I turn on a show presented by one of these hosts, I am drawn in and often find myself watching longer than expected.
I think most of the newer hosts were chosen because they have pretty faces and retail backgrounds. Unfortunately, some of their voices make my ears bleed and I can't change the channel quickly enough. They seem like lovely people, but this can't be good for sales.
I like David because he's fun and easy to listen to. While I certainly wouldn't categorize him as a saint, I think he's a consummate professional. It's going to be a sad day when the older hosts start retiring.

I gravitate toward David, Dan, Rick, Mary and Pat. The newer hosts? I don't even know all of their names, let alone their faces. There doesn't have to be a connection with a host for me in order for a purchase to be made, but there does have to be one if I am going to turn to the Q channel and watch.
