Dave's bread now has 2 grams less fiber per slice.  And you can see it has far fewer seeds.  It's just not the same.

Moral of the story is check your food's nutrition labels, don't just assume.  Darn!

I don't know anything about Dave's bread because I don't use it, but I am a big advocate for Hero products. I love all of their products.

@Sooner   Fiber is not an essential for humans...no joke.

Who pushed it out for all?

Big Food, Big Pharma...

I haven't ingested a single grain of fiber in several years and I am the healthiest I have ever been. No gut issues, no skin issues, no acid reflux, no inflammation, no more joint pain, etc...

For those curious or just don't believe me, I highly suggest watching this 23 minute video on youtube:

@Susan Louise.  You don't eat fruits and vegetables?  N9 grains or legumes?  What do you eat?

@Kachina624   I've shared numerous times about our health journey since 2018...to a point of ad nauseam for many.

I live a carnivore lifestyle and DH lives a ketovore lifestyle.

I only eat:

Meat (mainly beef, lamb), fish (mainly salmon), seafood and eggs.

I cook with bacon fat, beef tallo and butter or ghee.

DH and I both started this lifestyle back in 2018 by clearing out our pantry/fridge/freezer...throwing out $500+ worth of food and haven't looked back since.

DH came home after seeing his Dr who diagnosed him on that day with type-2 diabetes.

When he came home, he got on the computer and googled how not to have to take insulin for type-2 diabetes.

The 1st video he watched

was 'How To Reverse Type-2 Diabetes' by Jason Fung

Every 6 months or so we both lowered our carbs to less and less as time passed...from low carb, to keto, then to ketovore for my DH.

I took it a step further to carnivore. There is one last step...called the lion diet. Since I can't give up coffee (which I now drink black for the past several years), I can't go to the last step. I just enjoy coffee too much.

Our health is fantastic...I'm 66 and DH will be 60 in February. We both feel like we are in our 30's again. We both lost over 120 lbs, are off all of our meds and the health issues we have had are all gone.

We follow on youtube:

Dr Anthony Chaffee

Dr Ken Berry

Dr Shawn Baker

HomesteadHow

MyZeroCarbLife

Not everyone can do this lifestyle for many reasons. For us, after learning all we have since 2018, we can't unlearn it, unsee it, unfeel the positive health results we have had.

No cookie, chip, cake or pie tastes as good as having our health back.

Lastly, to specifically answer your question...

For myself, I don't ingest any carbs (except what is natural in eggs or seafood which is very minimal).

We don't ingest any sugars, grains or seed oils.

Having no seed oils whatsoever has been one of the positive results of my eyesight improvement.

So many folks need to do their own research about seed oils and the history of them. They were initially meant to be a lubricant for machinery...NOT for humans to ingest!

Talk about eye opening info...and how we develop all the health issues we do and how our bodies deal with things we ingest we shouldn't be having in the 1st place.

Remember, this was a process for us...

In the beginning, I had to wean myself off of the coffee creamers I was literally addicted to for over 40 years. The process took about 3 months for me to go from the liquid coffee creamers to heavy whipping cream. Then it took me another 3 months to go fron HWC to drinking my coffee black.

Folks on these forums loved to bash me/this lifestyle. At the same time I became exhausted trying to explain things all the time. Folks choose what they want and what is important to them.

For anyone to make changes with their own health, they have to reach their own turning point on their own. It won't happen a single minute sooner.

Do we miss certain foods, treats, etc. Of coarse...

But not enough to ever go back and eat or drink them again...ever.

We enjoy not being in pain, not being obese, not being sick, not paying $$$ for meds.

It's as if we found the fountain of youth...

Last December I had to take an eye exam to get my license renewed...and it was without my glasses. I stopped wearing them about 5 years prior...just didn't need them anymore. My vision had improved!

Last year I posted about my hair getting less grey then it used to be and folks thought I was joking...LOL

The # of health issues that have been resolved for us are countless.

For others, they just can't give up their (fill in the blank) and will gladly take their meds.

Everyone is free to make their own choices for their health and how they procede on their unique journey.

This is ours...

We only have one go around in this world...no second chances. We don't get an extra life like Super Mario.

Side Note:

Google AI for info on: Maggie on HomesteadHow  (youtube)

She is 85 yrs old and has lived a carnivore lifestyle all of her life. Most folks would be shocked to see her and learn of how she lives her life now.

HomsteadHow has several videos about her and a new documentary called 'Healing Humanity'.

Folks can do their own research...

As for fruits/veggies...DH has a minimal amount being ketovore. I have none at all. Research/watch videos on youtube about plants by Dr Anthony Chaffee.

Fruits nowadays are nothing but sugar bombs and hybridized to be so. A glass of orange juice is no better than drinking a regular Coke.

The amount of nutritional info that DH and I have had to unlearn from the dogma/propaganda we have been fed all our lives has been maddening. The more we did the exact opposite of what we have been taught all our lives, the healthier we became.

Imagine that...

Does anyone REALLY believe Big Food/Big Pharma cares about our health?

The healthier we become, the less profits/$$$ they make...that's the bottom line. DH and I are so PO'd we didn't wake up to all the madness sooner.

Better late than never...

A great video podcast from 2 yrs ago (1 hr/15 minutes) - Dr Ken Berry answers a lot of questions to help those to understand this lifestyle...highly recommend:

The carnivore diet is highly restrictive, may offer short-term weight loss, but carries significant long-term health risks and is generally not recommended by health professionals.

The carnivore diet consists entirely of animal products, including beef, pork, poultry, fish, eggs, and limited dairy like cheese and butter, while excluding all plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds. It is essentially a zero-carbohydrate diet, often pushing the body into ketosis, where fat is used as the primary energy source. Some variations include organ meats to provide additional nutrients, but most followers rely heavily on muscle meat.

While the carnivore diet may provide short-term benefits such as weight loss or blood sugar stabilization, it poses significant long-term health risks, including heart disease, cancer, nutrient deficiencies, and kidney stress. A balanced, plant-inclusive diet is a safer and more sustainable approach for overall health and longevity

Is this Dave's Killer Bread that you're talking about?  If so, I didn't realize that.  Why would they reduce the fiber??
