@RespectLife

I am about 60 miles from Buffalo. I think you're right about the NY area being all lumped as one. A shame about your food arriving defrosted & warm. Go Bills! 🏈

@Trix  I'm a "NYer in exile".  I'd be damned careful in NYC.  In fact with what's going on there today, I wouldn't go anywhere near it.  The streets and the subways can be very dangerous to your life.  Read the news and give it a 2nd thought.

@Cats3000 Thanks for the warning.  I'm up on the crime rate being outrageous in NYC, but living in the inner city of Chicago it may feel like just another day out and about in Chi-Town. I was there in May for two nights and one day and it was fine, but that wasn't a running around trip.

@nyc1  That's it.  Your thread has convinced me that I need a few days in NYC.  The plans are in the works now. Shooting for early October (hopefully will be able to tap a source to get a Yankees or Mets playoff game ticket).  Even if I do not get to a baseball game, I plan to have a Da Bronx bagel and go to Brooklyn for a slice of Junior's cheesecake. Relaxed

My kids aren't allowed to come and visit us without bringing  REAL Junior's cheese cake, REAL cannolis and REAL bagels! I'm in upstate NY.

I live in NY ...I ordered these bagels & was not really happy with them... I much rather go to the bagel store in my town & get a delicious bagel for $1.00 😁

All of the brands of bagels in NY are great.  So long as it's kettle boiled and you purchased right out of the oven, it's spectacular.  Some are not.  The kind you get in the supermarkets or chain places like Einsteins's bagels.  They don't kettle boil them.  It means they last longer then one day, but they don't taste as good.
