An Aldis opened near us not long ago. Neither of us had been in it.

DD came home tonite with a bag of breaded chicken breasts and a package of seeded Brioche rolls.

Announced she got them at Aldis because she saw a chicken sandwich online and Aldis items was used.

Oh heaven, she did the breasts in the Ninja, toasted the rolls, a little mayo and dill pickle slices. It  was, hands down, the best chicken sandwich I have ever had.

I like Aldi's! It's small and always has fresh vegetables and fruit, the cheapest strawberries anywhere in my town.
The brioche roles are good and there's a large variety of breads.

Large packages of flavored water there is better than soft drinks. Love the chocolate but it's so good I eat too much!

Re: DD Finally Went In Aldis.

I don't know why, I just can't get into shopping at Aldi's. (And I'm all for saving money).

I've tried of few of their items and find it different shopping in the store because I'm not familiar with the brands.

I bought some cheese once, but had to throw it out as there was no flavor.

I like the veggies, especially the beef steak tomatoes and lettuce packages.

There's always only one register open and quite a few people in line.

I go back once in awhile, but just don't have any luck.

Re: DD Finally Went In Aldis.

I shop at Aldi's every weekend.  Hands down, they have the lowest prices for many items that I buy on a regular basis.  The pita chips, golden raisins, big canister of oatmeal, all their cereals are just a few items that I save a lot of money on.

In my store, the produce is good, not great, but for the basics, you can't beat them.  I've had great luck with their store brand, although I don't buy meat there, but get a lot of dairy, frozen items, and the basics (canned goods).  The first few times I tried them, I couldn't believe all the food I purchased for so little money.

The chips and crackers are equal to name brands, at about 1/2 the price.

Isn't Aldi's the store where you pay for the shopping cart..something minimal like a quarter,,,,and you get it back when you check out?

@Sunshine Kate True only one register open but it goes fast. There are barcodes on all sides of products so it can be swiped without having to stop and look for the code.
