@Sunshine Kate I know exactly what you are talking about.  You can kind of lift the handle up a bit and the water trapped underneath will run out.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean.  I struggle with the same thing....and yes, food particules, or whatever, does seem to clog up under there.  Drives me nuts too. Just doesn't look clean to me.  Can't get the knob off, so I guess it's like someone else said, it's just not meant to come off.
