Hey HonnyBrown,

Crock pot slow cooking is one of the easiest fail safe methods to use, and I am thrilled your Pot Roast was a huge success with your family.

It sounds delicious....Bravo my friend!

HonnyBrown I hope this is one of many slow cooked dishes you will be serving to your lovely family, and I enclose a big round of cyber hugs and again..... Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!!!!!!

babs, I got the jalapeno salt from an indie store.  Penzey's stopped carrying ground jalapeno, so I had to get my fix somewhere.

Since this was my first crock pot, I got the most basic model: off / low / /hi. It hasn't impressed me enough to buy a better model (or I'm not impressed because I don't have a better model.)

@HonnyBrown*****We did crock pot cooking in my Foods and Adv Foods classes!  Proud of you!  Next time it's ok to add the liquid at the start and just for info, I've found 6- 61/2 hours are the best times.

Why did you feel the need to line the crockpot and what did you use to line it with?   I assume roasts have considerable liquid, so don't understand the need for a lined crockpot for a roast.

I'm asking because 1-I'm curious and 2-I've also had many failures with crockpots, but not yet on roasts.

Easy cleanup.  Even with the liquid produced, food gets stuck on the bottom.

Hi Adore!

I'm very happy with the results!  I've had the thing for a year, and thrown away so much food and wasted a lot of time trying to use it. The only thing that consistently turns out well is a whole chicken.

Thanks ECBG!

I added the liquid an hour in because I forgot in the beginning Smiley Frustrated

Why do you have to add liquid to meats when they produce so much liquid on their own?

Haha, sometimes we have tacos on Friday not Taco Tuesday. I'd eat pot roast on any day too.
