I just started crocking about 2 years ago myself.

I have a large Hamilton Beach, approx. 7-8 qts. I think, with warm, low & high settings.

It is supercharged! My recipes are done hours, sometimes 2 full hours earlier than the recipe states. I agree w/ denisemb....these newer ones aren't very slow!

I do not use it while at work as my day is much longer than my crockpot takes to cook!

Most of my recipes call for the meats on the bottom....usually I put on a layer of sliced onions.

OMG, I've been using crockpots since they came out in the 70's, even before I was married!

They say you can leave them on for several hours, but I don't trust them while I am not at home, accidents can happen!

I use the high cooking method and there is always someone at home, me or my DH if I have to leave!

Always remember to use your liquid!
