I want to make white cream gravy and only have original (nonsweetened) almond milk. Will it come out the same if I used regular whole milk?

Thank you from more experienced cooks.

Yes you can use this milk for the gravy without an issue as far as consistency.

It should be fine, I use nondairy creamer and water for my gravy.

But what about taste?

I just used it to make my alfredo sauce for my dinner. Almond milk can add a nuttiness depending upon your taste buds, many won't know the difference.

It will be fine. I cook and bake with almond milk all the time.

I just had my fettuccine Alfredo with meatballs and broccoli. I use a jar of almond milk, fill the Alfredo sauce jar half way and shake, then dump over mix and repeat. I didn't taste the almond milk. I was, and will be great over the week for lunch.

I use the unsweetened almond milk for gravy and many things. I did have a flop with using it in instant pudding. Did not set up at all.

Yes, I had a flop with the instant (sugar free) pudding, too. It said on the box that if you used soy milk it would not set up, but stated nothing about almond milk. Live and learn!{#emotions_dlg.glare}
