I really don't understand why I am getting all the good pieces and you all are getting such bad ones.
I used to think I would be different...my TempTations would never crack. I use casseroles from the 1940s (Harkerware) with no problems.
The I had a TT casserole break into pieces as I removed it from the oven - 350 degrees, loaded with lasagna!
I looked closely...almost every piece I had (holiday sets) was crazed.
What I have left I use for serving only - not for baking or microwaving.

I think the older pieces are of better quality.

They seem to be big sellers on Q. Wonder who is buying them, or if anyone reads these posts on the cracking issue. And if they are all being replaced by the company, as Lori K suggested they will do. At least customer service is good.

I got a 9 x 13 Lid It in Old World--Cream which is very pretty and I think cakes and savory dishes look great in it. But I made a cake last week and noticed that there is a scratch-like crack on the outside and a whole strip of the ceramic chipped out from the scratch! I'm not sure if I should use it again. The scratch is on the outside away from the food, but what if the whole dish shatters like the poster who had that happen while taking lasagna out of the oven?
I have never had Pyrex or Corningware French shatter, and I have decent metal baking ware with no issues, so I think I am done with Temp-Tations. I haven't had that Lid-It but a year and only used it several times and stored it safely. No rough handling at all. I can't imagine how it got that crack and gouged out piece of ceramic.

I have seen numerous posts about pieces cracking but I can honestly say it had never happened to me until just recently. I have the 9 x 13 red polka dot pan & have used it more times than I can remember. The other day I took it from the dish drainer & was preparing to put it away when I felt the crack on the inside of the pan about half way down. The pan is still intact but you can definitely feel it. Do I need to find my original receipt for order information? Can I call QVC customer service for the phone number or is QVC the one I need to call? Any info you can give me will be appreciated. Thanks!!!

I stopped buying Temptations years ago because they either cracked or actually split. Now I use my remaining Temptations for serving only. If I want ceramic bake ware I buy Fiesta ware. It is so much better than Temptations - there is no comparison!

I've been curious about this issue and at first only used pieces to serve and store in, not use in the oven or microwave. Then I got brave and started to use pieces in the oven and yes, eventually they do crack. I don't have pieces from when they were first introduced. I came to the party late, maybe four years ago. I think quality control is the issue, and the pieces I've ordered most recently (probably in 2012-2013) seem to not be as "thick" so that, too, may be part of the problem.
As they get damaged I use the small pieces as planters and the larger ones get tossed. I don't think I'll be ordering any additional items any time soon. It's sad, because it is fun to have things that match, or that you can mix and match, but it's no fun if they don't last.
I have similar pieces in the Pfalzgraf (sp?) Winterberry pattern serving that are also made overseas and I use them in the oven and store in the fridge or freezer without any problem. Ditto for two Beleek ovenware pieces that I purchased in 2013 from the Q and these also have been used oven to table to freezer without any difficulty or crazing or cracks.

Well, I am done with TT...used a 9 X13 last night and when I washed it there was a big crack on the bottom and many fine cracks inside....I won't even use for cold things...that's about the 7th one for me...I will NOT be buying TT anymore!!!!!!! And I am a big sucker for "pretty"...I won't even watch the shows..so sorry!!!!!!

Why bother getting a replacement piece that will just crack too?
I bought a lot of TT at one point, for myself and for gifts. When they started cracking and crazing, I just chalked it up to the fact they are cheap Chinese poorly made products.
I stopped buying them and switched to Fiesta. I inherited my mom's Fiestaware from the 50s that is still going strong!
The only baking pieces I use are Fiestaware and a set from Lidia Bastianich (also from the Q and made in China, but much better quality than TT).
