I am liking Costco more and more.  I used to only go 2-3 times a year.  Now I can go every month.  They're always putting out new stuff.  Last time I went I saw some tops I liked but didn't have my size or colors.  Ordered 4 of them on line and a flannel shirt and total was $43,  not shipping charge.  The tops are great, so very soft and the flannel is too.  I've gotten the same flannel for my daughter and it washes like a dream.  I saw on online at Costco the Cuisinart air fryer/toaster oven for $199.  I joined Sam's Club because there was a promotion for $15.  I've also gotten some nice clothes for my daughter.  Going to Costco next week because a shirt (called a shirt but really looks like a jacket) is going to be $11.99 from $15.99.

I belong to Sams Club. Im single in a small home. Not everything in these member clubs is giant sized stuff. I buy things like 2lbs of chicken fajitas strips ( for salad) that come packaged to make it ready to freeze half.

I buy cheeses, salsa, cheese and caramel popcorn, parmasean crips ( if they ever get them back again grrr). Two-packs of Dave's Bread, nice large bag of real bacon bits that fits in my fridge door just not the miniscule size in the supermarket. Singular bottles of Calcium and aspirin, and their brand of Premiere Protein Shakes, deodorant, hair conditioner....just tons of stuff that are not huge portions, although during pandemic i did buy a large box of toilet paper i kept in my garage...thank god.

Ive bought a great garden hose and attachments, pretty holiday food gift sets and decor,...always get my Christmas cards when i had my old job and needed to have 40 of them and they were substantial, fancy and gorgeous.

@Icegoddess During the last sale Costco had that ended yesterday, the Tramontina skillet in pic 3 was on sale for $39.99.  I had posted about getting it even going there 2 times just to be sure.  I concluded I really didn't need another pan so I passed it by.  To me it rivals the TSV skillet and it has a  much more reasonable price.  IMO, everybody doesn't need to buy 2 skillets and spend $200.  To me, it's what I call a soft/hard sell.

@Kachina624 To me, it's the best $60 I could spend.  Very liberal return policy -- more than 30 days, most on-line orders ship free, 2 year warranty on appliances, delivery is very quick-- days, not weeks, cashiers don't wear PJs. I have never had a problem with anything purchased or returned. Love Costco.

Yes, indeed.

My rebate check this year was for $467.00

I do a lot of shopping at COSTCO and buy all my casual clothes and a lot of organic food there.

@pdlinda

One of my friends does the same thing and gas as well.  His checks are usually about as much as yours, that's a big amount.

My Costco buying is limited as they discontinued taking American Express.  Everything I can I put on Amex, utilities, communication i.e. cell internet & cable food, clothes etc for their points.

A few years ago I had accumulated enough points to have hardwoods installed in my house lol.

@Love my grandkids.  As a family of one, I don't buy enough to justify it.  Don't have room to store large quantities of anything.

I've always been opposed to the idea of paying some corporation to shop in their store.  Don't they make enough profit on what they sell?

@Kachina624

I am a party of one and I have been a Costco member for over 20+ years. Like others the savings is worth it, and I do have the space to store items. I get gas weekly, purchase non perishable items that can last for quite awhile, such as TP, Paper Towels, Laundry detergent and several other items.

If I am attending a gathering I make a point to go there to pick up specialty trays such as fruit, vegetables, and desserts. Christmas is coming, so I will be purchasing several items from them I am sure. I have even purchased my living room TV from Costco.

I also forgot to mention clothes.

I like to say that Costco is like Disneyland for adults.

@Kachina624

A friend recently told me Costco makes their $ from memberships as their margin is really low, something like a 3% profit.

Not sure how close that is to accurate, who knows maybe she found out the info when she worked those 2 - 3 Christmas seasons there.  ha.

@wagirl I have heard of the Gourmia brand, but I don't know anything about it.  However, there was a thread on here recently where people were buying much cheaper versions of a recent Le Creuset Dutch Oven at Aldi's, so I figured the brand shown here was worthwhile to show.  It's always up to the shopper to research their purchases.

@Icegoddess @wagirl

My Air Fryer (Gourmia) that I received as a Christmas gift was purchased from Costco. It had good reviews and there was a thread a few years back discussing the brand. I have  no complaints I believe this will be year three.

@Kachina624 Nobody suggested you should.  People are just weighing in on how it works for THEM. But, the fact that it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it's a bad deal for everybody.

I consider the overall advantages rather than a hard line on paying to shop.  I have one CC I pay for but it more than makes up for it by paying the luggage fee, as well as earning sky miles which has come in handy lowering our airfare.  If it was just me, it wouldn't be as worth it, but it is for the both of us.
