I've been watching the Copper Chef presentations for a long time and finally took the plunge last weekend.  I bought K45519.  I washed it when it arrived and the next day I decided to try making popcorn in it.  While it worked beautifully for that, I was shocked when I washed it and noticed that the coating on the bottom (outside of pan) had already flaked off!  What??!!!  I have a glass top stove, and no dishwasher, so nothing in my only use should have caused this.

Has anyone else had this happen?  What concerns me is if it comes off so easily on the outside, will the same thing happen on the inside?  copper chef.jpg

Re: Copper Chef disappointment

I too am dissapointed with Copper Chef pans.  Mine haven't flaked off the bottom, but I have trouble with everything sticking in them.  I have never put them in the dishwasher and have never used metal utinsils on them.  I don't use them too much because of everything sticking.

That is terrible.  I cannot believe how QVC touts this pan as if it's the greatest pan ever made!   I stick with my stainless steel pots and pans and my stoneware, and it's not Temptations!

That has happened to mine too but on the outside only so far.I am not going to buy any more although I do love that they say they can be used at high temperatures.

Re: Copper Chef disappointment

So far, I'm going to play the opposition on this one.  We bought the brownie/cake pans with dividers and I have to say they've been phenominal.  Wife thinks they're the best she's ever seen.  We also bought the complete set of cooking pans and they've worked just as well.  Bought the griddle and used it for pancakes last week.  The only problem I had was keeping them on the griddle when I went to turn them.  They actually slid halfway off the griddle.  They are slick and slippery.

I realize that not everyone may have the same results as we have, but so far all our Copper Chef products have been great.

I am also very disappointed. On my skillet it is also flaked on the bottom and also stained after only a few uses and hand washed.  I have gone back to using my reliable cast irons. Wasted money.

One thing that  bothered me with these Copper Chef products is that most of them only have a 60 day limited warranty...............

Wow!  Thanks for all your responses.  I am kicking myself because, in my effort to be efficient, I already recycled the packaging.  Otherwise this would definitely be going back.  Actually, that's no excuse, I'm going to contact the Q and see what I can do.  I'm not impressed enough with the pan to overlook this fault,
