@ID2 . . . ouch . . . several folks on these boards enjoy many brands but also many cannot afford All Clad but to hear their choices called inferior is a bit harsh. I love my Curtis Stone cookware but also have some All Clad pots. Both serve a purpose but for someone starting out unless you have the funds and they have the skills up front All Clad may not be the best choice.

I totally agree. Curtis Stone has the best cookware. Cleans up easier than any cookware I have had over the last 50 years. I think he may have another today's special this year. When he is on, a lot of his items have free shipping too. His cookie sheets are wonderful, but they sell out so fast.

I agree with buying a simple set of cookware for an inexperienced cook.

My parents bought us a set of Club Aluminum cookware for a wedding gift 43 years ago, and I'm still using it, but have added additional name brand pots and skillets along the way.

Thank you to everyone for the cookware suggestions!!!

My granddaughter enjoys cooking. Before she moved to another state with her mother when she was 16 years old, she cooked in my home with me ever since she could sprinkle colored sugar on cookies!!! We enjoyed doing everything together, and we still do. I I admittedly have a bit of an addiction to cooking and shopping!

She is now 22 years old and in her first apartment with her husband and new baby. For a few months last year, she & her husband had an apartment, but she started having health problems near the end of her pregnancy, so, she & her husband moved in with her mother for a few months. It seems her mother took her cookware to "use for a while"...and apparently it is staying with her mother. I have no idea how this could possibly happen because I could never take anything from my children when they were first starting out. Enough about that.

No, I was not the one who gave her the first and only set of cookware, and I do not know what brand it was.

I love my granddaughter more than life itself.
