I have never had much luck with the ice cream makers that use a bowl that you prefeeeze.  This one does not work that way.  Anybody ordering? I am tempted.

I am tempted, too. I read the piece in the Insider last night and found it really appealing. But I have a very old Vitamix and am trying to hew to the maxim that "I have everything I need already, I just have to find it and use it." So before I succumb to that neat machine, I've promised myself I'd dig out the Vita Mix and make some ice and make a couple of batches of ice cream or frozen yogurt.

The only negative I saw were the colors, which were vile. White is the only one I'd order, and if that's out, I'd pass. Why they didn't include black and red, I'd love to know.

One I saw in there only made .75 qt something like that. Remember thinking wouldn't make 2 good bowls.

@noodleann i have a vitamix and not been over the moon on its version of ice cream.  i will go with white if i decide to get it.  Wish there was a demo online now for those that might want to preorder along with how long from load to ice cream.

Thankyou!  I assumed it was a new item but it wasnt.  It is in the Kitchen Small Appliances, Cooks Essentials area as the 3/4 qt. ice cream maker.  Lots of reviews.

Nope not ordering. I have a very nice one gallon capacity White Mountain ice cream maker and a little Cuisinart one.

Well the recipe in thei Vitamix cookbook is stupid and calls for ice. I do not make Vitamix ice cream with ice as ice just dilutes the flavor I use frozen fruit instead.

My Cuisinart is one of those with the container that you freeze ahead of time and I've never had one bit of trouble with it.  It works brilliantly and I've had it for around 20 years.

I dont like that the bowl is not removable for cleaning.  Whose brilliant idea was that?  To clean you have to tip the machine bowl end down into the sink being careful not to get the motor end wet.  Sure.
