Cooking From The Pantry 🥧

Today I decided to go through the pantry goods and see what I could make for dinner. I don't remember why, but I had some canned chicken (the Kirkland brand ) , cream of chicken soup, and mixed veg. from the freezer. I bought some pre made pie dough a while back and never used it. Anyway, I threw together a chicken pot pie. It was decent, not like my homemade , but it was ok and I got rid of some clutter. I tend to stock upon some items, and then forget I have them , so a pantry meal gets rid of some overstock.

@QVCkitty1  Yes I like to make individual pot pies in ramekins just like you did.  So good!

Oh I always feel a sense of accomplishment by using up things I've had in my pantry.

@ID2 --I feel that same way!! DD and I try to come up with a leftover meal at least 2x week where we take all the small leftovers and concoct a meal or 2. Will do that for tonights dinner, I think. Have some leftover polenta, a bit of steak and lots of fresh vegs and salad greens---You spend so much $$ on food these days--it is very painful to throw stuff out.

I've made one grocery run since the week before Christmas.  I am cooking solely from the pantry and freezers; still have 15 packs of bacon on hand.  The reason I went to the store recently was due to having no onions, potatoes, and only half a loaf of bread.

@RedTop :  How are you doing?  15 packages of bacon, sounds like my kind of freezer.....
