I have a cookie jar my mother made for me 30 years ago, and  used it when my children were young. Now, it sits up high for fear of it being damaged somehow. It's a chocolate chip ice cream cone. Cookie Jar.jpg

I have a Mackenzie-Childs cookie jar that I put a few cookies in at a time for the grandchildren to take after a meal (and after they wash their hands!).

It's not airtight, but easy for them to open.

I had a sealed cookie jar from Pampered Chef ( I think?), but it was hard to open and close.

Used to have a big glass jar that I filled with cookies----but not anymore--we don't eat them and it took up too much room on my counter--I use it for storing pasta now, in my pantry.

My cookies go into the lock and lock bins, so do crackers.

I do the exact same thing.

I have a cookie jar that I use in my kitchen. It's by Rowe Pottery,

It is two sided, one for everyday all year, then you turn it around and it is for Christmas

I have had it for years and love it as much today as when I first got it.

I also have this vintage one from my childhood that belonged to my mom and it resides most of the time in my family room on shelves I have filled with family heirlooms.

I also have this one that my grandpa bought for me on my first Christmas. I get it out and display it every Christmas

None of these old style jars keep things fresh, no seals in them back in the day. I use them for granola bars, or if I do put cookies in, I put them in sealed bags first. They are more about memories than function, but can be functional to hold things besides loose unwrapped cookies and treats.

I have a lovely ceramic cookie jar I picked up at Pier 1 years ago. It's sealed at the top and, I don't know about all of your cookie jars, but my cookies stay fresh for days and days. Never had one as a child.

I don't; the last thing I want is cookies calling my name from the countertop.  I do have dog treats in a cookie jar in my pantry though.

I wouldn't be inclined to use one of those kitschy designed jars even if I were to use one.  They're not my style.
