Colorado Peaches

[ Edited ]

We don't get peaches here until late July or Aug. We drove up the road 45 mins to pick up some peaches from Colorado on Fri. They are huge. Some are 12" in size. There are 60 peaches at $100. They are so juicy after I let them ripen on the table.

We made 2 batches of peach ice cream yesterday. DH took a batch to his mom's house. His sister & sons kids will help my MIL eat it. Yum!

The peaches and ice cream both look delicious.  There's nothing quite so perfect as a peach.  I LOVE them.

It is really good. Every year I wait for them to bring in Colorado peaches. It's a long wait.

Peaches will be available into Sept. here.

Even though peaches are a goitrogenic food which can impair thyroid function I still eat a lot of them.

Hmmmm, best in the world.  What I wouldn't give for a Palisades  Peach.

That's where they come from. They are Cunningham peaches. We also have a peach truck here from Aug-Sept with peaches from Noland Orchard. There trucks go to several states. You can check their list on their site to see if one is close to your location.

Wish I could share with everyone. My sister wants some but she's 1200 miles away.

She also wants DH to make some of cinnamon rolls so we can ship them to her.

Now I need to start cutting up peaches to freeze.

These pics are killin' me ~ they look so good (especially the ice cream). Peaches have been plentiful around here this season but I've not had any really good ones. They've been small and hard and not juicy ~ maybe next year. Keep enjoying all your wonderful goodies.
