Cleaning your Keurig ??

I have hard well water and noticed that a film is beginning to form on the outside reservoir tank of my Keurig. I removed the tank, dumped the water and tried cleaning the sides with a damp paper towel. That's not gonna do it. Should I run vinegar through it? If so, I guess I will need to remove the filter first, right?
