Do you like cilantro?

I think it tastes like soap!

@pprmntstx  After planting cilantro this year I discovered I didn't like it at all.  And, come to find out there's only 1 neighbor out of a couple dozen who like it & the deer who've come by every day or so to eat other things don't care for it either.

that means you have the gene OR6A2.  People with this gene find that cilantro tastes like soap.

Love it!  I add it to chile, guackamole, marinades, and chicken and fish dishes.

I've always thought that too! It does taste like soap. Not that we've ever had soap, but I know what you mean.

I don't mind it a little in some Mexican dishes, or in guacomole. But not overpoweringly. I rarely eat it otherwise.

That's how I feel about Rosemary.  To me, it tastes like dirty dishwater.

I do like cilantro, however.

@pprmntstx I loathe it. Spent most of my life in So. Calif. with tons of good (and cheap) Mexican food available. If a dish couldn't be prepared without this, I ordered something else.
