Usually, we have ham, cheesy potatoes, veggie, relish tray, rolls and some decadent dessert. Christmas Eve is usually tons of appetizers and desserts, and a houseful of people. Not this year. Not even sure if we will have our normal 6 or 8 for Christmas Day dinner. The Christmas Eve event is off for sure.
Will have to see what cases are here closer to the holiday. The six or eight are immediate family only for Christmas dinner.
I will see my dad Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, even if we decide against the meal and just enjoy a short visit. I’ve seen him several times but mostly outdoors this year, or masked and Social distanced in the house for short visits.
We won’t want to put anyone at risk. I would be ok with anyone’s decision not to attend. My SO works out in the public, I work mostly at home, but occasionally in the office a few days a month.
We have stayed safe all year, and will see how everyone feels at the time. We have yet to do inside dining, since March. We still have to stay diligent.

@ScrapHappy If it is just a few of you, why not splurge and do a prime rib? Or you could do steaks on the grill. Add to that some seafood like grilled shrimp or broiled lobster.

I tried Ree Drummonds recipe. I followed the recipe exactly and didn't think the potatoes cooked enough and it was so difficult to shell out the inside while still leaving an edging.

Since our family experienced a tragic loss in 2018; the holidays are so, so difficult. 💔 I always loved to put out a great spread for the 3 holidays. It's different now. I have to go easy on myself, yet still want to serve something nice, different and simple. I bought the tomahawk pork roast from Corkys right here on the Q last year. It was excellent, tender and delicious. It was enough for our family of 4, along with side dishes. It was different for us but everyone liked it. I'll probably order for the New Year again. I'm hoping it will be presented soon on sale. If not, I'm thinking of the filet Mignon Wellingtons from Rastelli. I never had them, but they do look good.
Check it out....

A TV dinner, it will just be me and the dog! Maybe peppermint ice cream if I can find it.
Do a small turkey breast in your crock pot. You would have nice leftovers.
DH got one so small once, I was concerned it would over cook!![]()

My routine is:
Thanksgiving = turkey
Christmas = ham ( gift from my husband's company)
New Year's Eve = stuffed tenderloin

@ECBGThanks I never thought of the crock pot. Usually I order one way before Christmas for my son, granddaughter & myself.
Last year the other granddaughter and whole family showed up!
They’ve moved now so I’m glad they did come!
I do a big turkey breast so DS won't take my turkey leftovers!
I have a large crock pot. I cut out the back so the top will go down. I spray the crock pot.
I pour melted butter on the under side and the top.
On both sides I put a lot of marjoram, celery seed, and poultry seasoning.
I cook on low for 5 hours for a 9 lb breast bone in.

It all depends on when we can get everyone together. Between work schedules and in-law families to also consider, it can be a challenge. As to what we’ll eat, it could be a brunch, an afternoon dinner, or an evening with assorted appetizers and Portillo’s italian Beef. I don’t stress about it anymore.
