Chopped salad - is there a kitchen gadget?

My favorite restaurant has a chopped salad....really fine chopped lettuce....and I am sure it is not chopped with a knife.  Is there a kitchen gadget that can chop lettuce into small pieces?    Thanks!

@Mom2Dogs  Hi!  Yes, there is.  Pampered Chef sells this.  Looks like scissors, you use it like scissors to chop your salad.  Look online or see if someone near you is a Pampered Chef consultant.  It might be worth your while to host a PC party - you can get lots of free stuff.  Check it out.

I have:

Kitchen scissors (2 different kinds) that I use to chop salads.

An Ulu knife

An OXO knife and bowl set.  It's the kind of knife used at Subway sandwich shops.  It has two blades on it and is almost like an Ulu knife with two blades.

I use whichever one I grab first to make chopped salads which I Iove.

I have a mezzaluna knife, but honestly a regular knife would do fine...I’ve been eating a ton of chopped salads...Subway makes delicious ones👍🏻

We purchased large kitchen scissors which do great when cutting all salad ingredients in the salad bowl.

You decide how large or small you wish the salad ingredients to be.

Fast and easy with very little pressure on the wrists and hands, so I highly recommend that quick and cheap but very excellent salad cutting method.

Chopped salad is my specialty -- everyone always asks me. to make it for every occassion!

I just use sharp chefs knife.  Works perfectly!

I've tried those "salad chopping scissors" not great luck☹️

So what are you all referring to as chopped salad?

@Sooner

My version of a chopped salad -- everything chopped in bite size pieces.

1 head lettuce - chopped not "torn" into bite size pieces

1/2 head romaine

chopped tomatoes (seeds removed)

red onion (if you like)

 chopped cucumbers (seeds removed)

meats: deli slices for me 1/4" slices

chopped:

    ham

     genoa salami

     provolone cheese

1 can sliced olives (large olives chopped)or jar of kalamri (sp) or italian olives

Dress with italian balsamic vingerette or italian dressing of your choice.

Variations:  In addition to above ingredients

add can of solid white albacore tuna chopped

add chopped hard boiled eggs

add chopped artichokes

add chopped peppers

add italian style croutons

& anything else you like in your salad

(then we call it "chopped garbage salad"😊)

our family & friends love it!

Re: Chopped salad - is there a kitchen gadget?

@homedecor1 Thank you for the beautiful picture and the explanation!  I must really be a dinosaur because it just looks like salad to me!  I use my knife and however I chop or slice things that day, I never thought whether I am chopping or dicing or slicing!  LOL!!!

I have a lot of big knives and who knows how I'll mangle it from day to day!  Woman LOL  I am GOOD with a big knife!  I love to make that really thin sliced cabbage for cole slaw!  That's fun!
