We got the one with a small black and white photo of a man ( like you see on Chef Boyardee); evidently that's the big seller in China. We're trying it tonite on a pizza.

Re: Chili Crisp Sauce

[ Edited ]

I recently saw an add on FB for Heinz chili pepper crunch sauce - they showed a pic of it on avocado toast.

Both this morning's Atlanta metro newspaper and the Washington Post have featured a recipe for Coconut Corn Soup with Chili Crisp.

That was the first reference I've seen to chili crisp, and this thread is the second.  Must have been living under a rock.

This is fabulous added to Asian style stir fries and noodle dishes.  I make a basic sauce of light soy sauce (about 2 Tablespoons), dark soy sauce (about 1Tablespoon), oyster sauce (1 Tablespoon) and some of the chili crisp to taste. If it is a Thai sauce, then I add some fish asuce as well.  For extra spiciness you can add some garlic chili paste if desired.  I mix this in a small bowl and add a spoon of water if needed if too strong.  Then I toss  this in my stir fry when done or on my noodles when cooked and mixed with any add in veggies.  At the end I add a drizzle of sesame oil.  It is quick and delicious.  The chili oil crisp is not killer spicy.  It is also good on rice with a fried egg on top.

@Kachina624 : It is pretty good; we had it with Chicken tacos last night as a sauce choice.
