@TenderMercies - Wow...just....Wow!!!  I remember thinking that so many soap operas on tv were far-fetched and unbelievable...but real-life people make alot of the soap characters look normal!

You try to do something nice and this person makes you sound like your intention was to exclude her and make her feel "left out".  And her other "antics" sound just as bad!  I'm imagining she's not too popular amongst her peers!!

TenderMercies, your story is incredible.  The nerve of that woman.  If you're diabetic, you just don't partake, and you should be smart enough to know that the world doesn't revolve around you.  People with dietary restrictions generally have plenty of their own snacks on hand, knowing that they often cannot eat what most people eat.

My advice is to not kowtow to this woman.  Too many people cave to the demands of people like this which only serves to empower them even further.

P.S.  I think you should share her note with your co-workers.

@TenderMercies  We had a similar "joy of a person" who would do this whenever there was something she didn't like:

*Have pictures of your family? What about those who have just lost a loved one or who have no family...it's not fair.

*Have a plant? What about those who may be allergic? It's not fair.

*Treats at your desk? What about those on a diet? Are diabetic? Not fair.

This person wanted to dictate every thing in the office so that it worked for HER. 

Two things happened:

1) HR was approached. In the end, the employee had no grounds so...ignore her.

2) EVERYONE went overboard with whatever it was that she complained about. MORE pictures of family. MORE plants. MORE treats. MORE bright shades of lipstick. MORE water bottles... and so on.

Personally? I wouldn't dignify her stupidity... er... rudeness with a response. I would just make sure my Halloween candy looked even more AWESOME and AMAZING. What does she do everywhere else in the world? Bet she's a real "joy" when visiting other people in their homes.

I have had Cheryl's cookies before. They aren't any better then grocery store cookies to me. They have that "mass produce" taste. I know they liken them to "homemade" in their presentations, but they aren't.  Yes, the frosting does make them very sweet, but the cookie itself is nothing to write home about.

I bet if I was told that, I wouldn't bring anything again. It would be one thing if no one was to partake, and they weren't popular, but what rude co workers to eat them up, then complain about them.

I worked at a hallmark store years ago and we sold Cheryl's cookies at the register area.  It was way before qvc sold thm,  could have been when they were starting out maybe.  Anyways the cookies were sooooo much better as I remember .  I used to buy them all the time to hsve with coffee at break time.  I've ordered them from qvc and they aren't the same ,  they are ok as I love sweets , but the last time I bought them I wasn't crazy about them.  May try them just one more times christmas time.
