Went for breakfast at a small conference once and extra eggs were 25 cents. A colleague stood up and yelled "EGGS ON THE HOUSE!"

wow I'm coming to your Publix!!! Our store A dozen large eggs is $2.34 and ex-large are $2.95. I never buy medium so never look at price.
Today, I bought 18 large eggs at WM for $1.24. No difference in taste to me. Last week they were .44/dozen.
I bake a lot and of course, go thru them quickly.

Sidebar question: Do y'all know if those brown eggs are different from the white ones?
I was at the store today and went to get eggs but not only was the display about 3/4 empty but the only ones where I could just buy 6 were brown. All the rest were dozens and I cannot use that many. I need 4, so it's bad enough that 2 will probably go to waste.
I hope the brown ones will work ok.
TIA for any advice. ![]()

I don't think that there is a discernable difference in the flavor of brown vs. white eggs.

@chickenbutt No difference. The egg color is determined by the breed of hen that is producing the egg. In New England the brown is more common/popular except at Easter when white eggs are in demand to dye them.

The market I shop at (now have delivery from) gets farm fresh eggs every other day. They are large brown eggs, 35 cents each and you can buy as many or few as you want. Beautiful dark yellow yolks.

Thank You, Ladies!
I sincerely appreciate the advice and feel a better level of comfort that I won't go to all that trouble to end up with an inferior product.
I didn't have an opinion at all about the different eggs because I know zip, since I really don't deal with eggs unless it's for a baking recipe.
While I don't like knowing that 2 of the 6 eggs will go to waste, I'd really have a hard time with wasting 8 of them, so the brown ones won out.

I live in south central Kansas. All summer our large eggs have been 65 cents a dozen at Aldies. I've bought douzens! This week they're 85 cents a dozen, a bargin still!!!
