I have always been the one who didn't really care for pecan pie, icing in gobs, and a lot of really sweet sweet things.  But that being said I do like sweets.

But Coke not something sweeter, and now I am more into ginger ale than Coke.  And I never could stand Divinity or fudge.

Sadly, everything seems to change with age ~ even our tastebuds (speaking for my self only)!  I tend to think I'm being "punished" because I would discount my mothers change in taste but I know now I should have believed her Hahaha.

Not at all for me.  I'll still go for the corner piece of a square cake since it has the most frosting on it.  There are some things I find too sweet, like pecan pie, but that's been the same for many years.

I don't care for a sweet for a meal though, so I don't like all those sweet meal replacement diet bars/shakes.  A meal should be savory even if you just want a snack.  Then, I can have a piece of chocolate (dark only) for dessert.

I have avoided salt since childhood..hate the taste.

Also, most dairy.  I don't like milk or cream. I don't remember drinking a glass of milk without gagging.

Sugar?  I could eat it by the spoonful and used to when I was young.

I avoid most of it now.  Sugar mixed with a fat like butter or cream cheese can be too rich and sweet..I avoid that too.

My tastes have not changed with age.

I have noticed as I get older that I'm somewhat turned off by overly sweet foods. I've always been more of a savory person, but I didn't dislike sweets. I find now that I scrape the frosting off desserts and recently I was offered a pumpkin donut ( my favorite) and it was sugared and I just didn't want it. Just give me a plain donut or a muffin and I'm good. Do any of you find certain foods changes as you get older ?  Oh and no need to alert the media, LOL !

@QVCkitty1    Yes definitely.  I can't tolerate certain meats.  I only like fish, chicken or turkey in moderation.  But any red meat is a turn off.  Wish I could say the same for sweets.  I can't go a single day without my 2 cookies...hmmm....maybe 3.

@GingerHead Totally agree with you that sugar is like a drug. I would eat sweets and then crave salty snacks.  Or the reverse.

I loved sweets as a child, and I still love them in my 60s.

I love most candies, pastries, and desserts. I'm trying to cut back because I know too much sugar and fat isn't good for me. I'm not going to deprive myself completely though.

There are a few sweet things I loved as a child that I dislike now. I don't like sugary cereals, Little Debbie or Hostess snacks, or PopTarts anymore. Used to eat all those things as a child, teen, and young adult, but could never eat those now.

@wilma    I agree with those items you mentioned.  I never really liked Little Debbie or Hostess snacks as a kid...but... I used to take a pop tart to work for a quick snack...that ended when I retired.  I guess our taste changes as we get older.  Now all I need is an occasional mini peppermint patty or a cookie (or two) and I'm happy.

I used to love sodas, especially Cokes....I never touch them now and haven't for at least 10 years....awful!

I love sweets but nothing overly sweet...I could eat a dessert in the middle of the night.

I eat very little dairy and not a huge meat lover. Veggies are my favorites.
