Re: Candy or Food Stocking Stuffers

I remember "Santa" putting oranges and walnuts in our stockings----Boring!!! Don't ever remember eating any tho. DD and I fill our xmas socks with gifts--whatever will fit in them is the limit--we don't give presents as such. But I always find premium choc truffles as the little sweet treat. DD had custom made xmas stockings made for us from a friend of hers, that are just beautful. Always a treat to display them every year. I still have mine from when I was a kid too.

@wagirl  I think the fruit and nuts were a typical stocking stuffer, but now anything goes as long as as it fits in the stocking. I am keeping a small box that contains the stocking stuffers that I'm purchasing so that I don't forget them or eat them Woman Wink

I also have kept some stockings that were gifted to me many years ago. Always brings out memories. I still display some of them.

@wagirl @Calibeach    I no longer get a stocking, but when I was 4 or 5, my dads aunt made us ceramic Santa boots that we used as our stocking from then, till we left our home.  I still have it.  We always got a few candy bars, a pair of fancy underwear and a lifesaver book.  A few years of lipsmackers or nail polish.  Our stockings were fun.  My parents got an orange, apple and some nuts.

Although I never got fruit, for many years, every October, my dad bought me a pomogranite.  He's aging, and haven't received one in a few years.  Miss that.
