My grandmother was the best Portuguese cook loved her recipes. I remember them being simple but delicious, but my mother never cooked any of her dishes. I am looking for a nice Portuguese cookbook hopefully to find some of her recipes.I haven't started looking for one yet but when I go to the bookstore I want to look at the ones people have recommended if they are good. TIA

Maybe your local library could help. I'd try that first, then maybe a Barnes & Noble, etc. book store.

There's two that I own, my dear friends are Portuguese and gifted them to me.
'Portuguese Home style Cooking' and 'Azorean Cooking From My Family Table to Yours'. They're both available at Amazon.

I'd also recommend The New Portuguese Table , written by a James Beard award winner, recipes very good and lavishly illustrated. Has some of the regional specialties, since Portugal, for all it's a smaller country, has a lot of diverse regions (Madeira, Azores) If you want more "like Grandmother made" then Portuguese Homestyle is more of what you are after.

There are a number of sites online that have them. I seldom use my cookbooks any more since there are so many free recipes on trusted sites. Also most will let you print them in different forms depending on what you want - recipe card size, full page, etc. Some will even print a shopping list to go with the recipe. I use that feature a lot when trying something new.
