4uthebest,
I am really glad to see that you have actually purchased the NuWave PIC as I know your posts are informative, that you know what you’re talking about and are not a spokesperson for or an employee of NuWave. I’m wondering if Mac Doc is an employee as his ONLY 5 posts are about the NuWave PIC and they just sound like someone selling the product. I hope you’ll see my post as your last post about the NuWave PIC was on July 29, 2012. I have a number of questions I wonder if you would be so kind as to answer.
Am I to understand that you purchased two NuWave PICs and your total cost was $160? I recognize that unfortunately the company plays fast and loose with what it calls “free”, that their shipping and handling charges are exorbitant compared to those of most other companies, and that they tack on separate S/H for every item in an order, including so-called “free items” thus making nothing truly free. Consequently forget what’s labeled “free” and what’s not and what item prices vs. S/H charges are. I would like to know the bottom line amount you paid for two NuWave PICs. Did you get anything else with those two NuWave PICs for the $160 or whatever your bottom line cost was?
I do not need any pots or pans. Like you, the vast majority of my cookware is induction-capable. Is it possible to get just the NuWave PICs without any of the “extras” like cookware? Is it possible to get just one NuWave PIC rather than two?
I’ve done a lot of Internet research on this product and have read nothing but complaints about customer service at this company – and there have been numerous ones. Apparently e-mails to customer service are not read and phone messages left for customer service are not returned or a caller can’t get through at all. This is a serious concern to me as if I made a purchase and there’s a problem of any kind – something broken in the shipping, a part missing, I’m sent a used PIC instead of a new one etc. I want to be able to contact this company. What has been your experience with the company’s customer service if any?
I currently own a Max Burton 6200 Portable Induction Burner. I like this very much but am considering getting the NuWave PIC because it appears to permit the use of a wider range of temperatures. The Max Burton temperature range is 140 to 450 degrees. The NuWave says one can use temperatures from 100 degrees to 575 degrees. Is that really the case? It’s difficult to keep food in a pan simply warming at 140 degrees – 100 degrees would be an improvement. Steak grilling would be improved the meat could really be seared at 575 rather than a high of 450. However if this additional temperature range couldn’t actually be realized, there’s no reason to get the NuWave. What’s been your experience with temperatures on the NuWave PIC, 4uthebest? Can you truly choose a temperature of 100 and in 10 degree increments go to 575?
You last posted about the NuWave PIC on 7-29-12. Are you still using these portable induction burners and if so, are they still working as they should and are you still happy with them?
Thanks much.
