I had a skillet that looked that bad once.  There's an easier solution.

 

I bought Barkeeper's Friend.  It comes in a can like Ajax or Comet.  It can be purchased at grocery stores.

 

Just wet the pan, sprinkle on Barkeeper's Friend and wash with a brush, rinse well.  It comes out sparkling.

@lolakimono  ... 😂🤣😂🤣 .... before I read th end of your post I was going to tell you to throw it away!!!! ..... so funny 🤣.... all that scrubbing isn’t worth it at all & most of th cleaners they sell only work when they are demonstrating on TV!!! ... Thanks for the laugh 😆

Just soak in hot water and bleach will clean anything without a mess and scrubbing!

I couldn't care less what the outside of a cooking pan looks like.  If the inside cooking area is clean that suits me.

 

I do find the joke funny, because half way through reading it I was thinking, nope to much work and it doesn't bother me at all.Woman LOL

Have used Earth Brite  product that is natural clay. It remains me of that old borasso pwder that my GrandMother used to use. I think I bought it from HSN.

Trick is not to let the bottom of the pans get so  grimmy
