Cake stuck to bottom of 13x9 baker

I have used the 13x9 baker many times to roast meats, chops, etc. Never have had a problem. Went to make a cake, thought it was non stick. The bottom of the cake stuck to the pan, it finally came out in chuncks. The top of the cake had like a "skin" on it that ripped off when I tried to frost. Did I do something wrong? Has this happened to others? It made quite a mess and the cake looks awful.
