I have ordered 3 of Ming Tsai's burners over the weekend and yes, the price is really $89.99.  They had the same cooking program on HSN2 on Sunday as they has on HSN a week earlier.

I am curious how they work.  Will get rid of my electric stove, extend the countertop over that area and have 3 drawers installed under it.  I plan to have a convection oven (countertop model), so that should be enough totether with the pressure cooker and the 3 induction burners.

I am getting too old to put a 6 qt. pot in the oven for braising.  Otherwise I only use the oven seldom and hate the electric cooktop it has.

Now I am waiting for an appropriate cookware set to use with induction.  Unfortunately my wonderful hard anodized Todd English cookware does not work, but I know whom I will give it too.

CARMIE.....Not exactly sure on the candy issue, but from what I've read and heard, an induction burner can go ~25 degrees lower than a traditional burner on a stove.  That may allow one to melt chocolate without using a double boiler method.  The second point I've read is it maintains the exact temperatue for you so once you get to say, "soft ball" or "hard ball" it would be steady temp while you work with your candy process.

I purchased my induction burner from Sam's Club.  I got 6 pieces of stainless steel cookwear that includes an 8 inch saute pan, a 2 qt covered sauce pan and a 4 gal dutch oven all with lids.  All the pans are 18/10 stainless steel and are excellent quality.  Much better then I imagined and not junky at all.

I paid $89 for mine on sale last spring, but they are now $99.98.  It's an excellent value.There is aLifetime warranty on the pots and pans and a 5 year warranty on the burner.  It is adjustable from 1500 to 1800 watts.
