Yesterday when I went shopping in the produce section, there was a lady there buying asparagus. She was breaking off the bottoms of the asparagus and discarding them. I never thought to do that. I buy the whole bunch and do the discarding at home. I've been thinking about this and thought that it made sense because the asparagus is not as heavy and so you are paying less per pouind. And after all, you never use the bottom of the asparagus so why not. But then I thought, could I get in trouble for this? What do you think? Do any of you do this and would you do this now?
