I just love QVC and the people who explain the products of what they do.   I just loved David just gobbled a little bit ago when they were talking about the turkey fryer.

David was soooo funny.   He is so sincere as well.

Keep it up David!!

Hi all.. I have a question for those that have ben deep frying their turkey. I bought one this year, so it will be my first year deep frying the turkey.

What kind of oil do you feel is the best for deep frying the turkey?

And do you do it as is, or do you inject it with something like the cajun injector and the creole butter?

Thank you..

I forgot it takes 2 gallons of oil. LOl  Bought one gallon of pricey peanut oil since it was on sale, I get up today and figure out I need another gallon just used veg oil.

They say peanut is best , but, I'm not paying 24 -25 for 2 gallon. You can get veg for 7 a gallon.

Be careful when you lower the turkey in the basket with the clip attached that oil is 375 degrees you don't want to get burned bad. Use common sense and that flap at the top where you open it gets HOT they don't tell you that use pot holder to raise the lid by the corner flap.  OUCH !

We use peanut oil, we buy the 35 pound commerical container of it from Costco. I want to say it was 30 or 40 dollars but I can't remember. We bought it a year ago and still have some left. We don't inject our birds. I've fried chickens and turkey's in ours. If you're talking about the masterbuilt one that was the TSV a year ago, you can also steam and do boils in it.

Peanut oil is the best, but quite expensive. Sometimes I just use canola.

I'm not a fan of brining or injecting. I do nothing to the ones I deep fry.  I rub butter under the skin of the ones I smoke or just cook on the grill.

If you have an ALDI near you you may want to check to see if they have any Peanut Oil left. We picked up 4 gallons at $9.99/gal  a couple weeks ago-true still a little pricey but only $2 more a gallon than vegetable oil.

WOW!!! that is a good price. I'd pay the difference on that deal. I paid 12 for a gallon this week and thought that was a bargain. I'm in Amarillo, Tx and we don't have an Aldi's though. wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

My husband won't pay for peanut oil he said he can't tell the difference. LOL

Hi all.. I thought that I would stop in here this morning with my experiences with my turkey fryer.. Since we were going to be travelling to my sons house for Thanksgiving I didn't unpack my fryer. The day before we went and picked up our 45 lbs of peanut oil. We were all set, at least I thought we were. We unpacked it, Thanksgiving morning around 10am. All was fine until I realized that they failed to enclose the power cord. To say I was upset, angry and generally pissed off would be an understatement. There was nothing we could do, except find a store that was open and get a cheap roasting pan. I wrote the following day on their FB page and they are supposed to be calling me this morning.. I think I surely need more compensation of just them sending me the power cord.. so we shall see.

I will update as soon as I know what they are going to do.
