I prefer land o'lakes butter too, but it is so expensive! There are many farms and farm stands near me and I sometimes buy fresh, local butter. It is delicious too. I've tried store brands and found they are fine too. Maybe it's in my head, but the land o' lakes seems creamier and richer.

I have wondered too, is it just brand loyalty about the Land O Lakes for me too. I think it is the premium butter, and I will buy it if it is on sale for less than the store brands. It tastes and feels better to me than the others, but the others function just fine for me, and my guys really don't see a taste difference, so I buy what ever brand is on sale for less, and just stock up heavily on LOL when it is at rock bottom prices.

If you really want superb butter try Kerry Irish Butter. I may not have that name exactly right. Expensive but worth it. It is for people that CAN tell the difference.

kerrygold.....i mentioned it in post #15......i always have it on hand in block form and in the spreadable tub. they also make an excellent garlic herb butter. sometimes sams club has it and i get it from there for a little less than in the grocery store.
