Butter Cookies

Dear David

We purchased the Baking with the Cake Boss cook book. There is a recipe for butter cookies. My question is that I would like to add the candy sprinkles and cherries on the top of the cookies. Which kind of cherries would you use and when due you add them to the cookies. My mom and I enjoy your show very much.
