My husband and I hardly ever eat meat, however, may be willing to try the burnt ends I've seen that you just heat and serve.
Pork or beef? Any preference? Are they super good to you?
Any special sides to go with them....thinking of trying and I knew this was the place to come for answers. ![]()

My DH loves them, I like them as well but they are in a sweet sauce so I don't eat more than 1 or 2 pieces, he prefers pork.

Charred or burned meat is not healthy to eat. It contains carcinogens which are the product of cooking meat to the point of burning it which causes carcinogenic nitrates to form.

@SilleeMee Thank you for that reminder. I care, however, my DH does not. He consumes a lot of bacon and prefers it very crisp....gasp!

I know, I love a good crispy charred pork rib with bbq sauce. I stopped eating charred meats years ago when I heard about the nitrates. But before that I ate charred meats all of the time...yikes.

@SilleeMee Same here! My first husband grilled steaks all the time and I loved them charred.
Gave him up and all the meat too. ![]()

We like burnt ends made from the brisket point.
They are also made with pork belly or chuck roast the poor man's burnt ends. They are about half fat so it's not something I want to eat all the time.
One of the BBQ restaurants here came out with them several years ago. Their recipe was really good. They have since changed their recipe so we no longer buy them.
If we want some DH makes them on the smoker. We like brisket but we always buy the flat. It has less fat.

We like our steaks a little charred. I don't want it burnt though.

I have a chuck roast in the freezer. I could tell DH to make some. He's making pizza tonight.
DH smoked a chuck roast to make poor man's brisket once. It was ok but not brisket.
