I just recently bought a small jar of minced garlic at the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market. I just checked the label that says Organic minced Garlic Certified by California Organic Farmers.

i wonder how many food recalls have come from grown in the usa food versus food from other countries?
my bet would be on food from the USA having the most recalls.

I think it's quite reasonable to avoid food products from China, or to at least try, due to their lax standards and environmental problems. I've done so for years.
As for avoiding manufactured items from China, I've no opinion. But if someone wants to make a political statement by doing so, then I say go for it.

I just looked at a large bag of Garlic I got at Costco a while back. It came from Argentina.

Just googled garlic from China. Yes, it may be fertilized with human waste, & it is bleached.
Trader Joe’s is phasing out single ingredients from China, including garlic, ginger, spinach & edamame.

I grow my own in a terracotta pot in my patio. It's a beautiful plant and it has pretty flowers that smell like garlic. I have the garlic in the middle of the pot and have lobelia surrounding it. I got the original garlic at Trader Joe's a few years ago and too a couple of the little garlic lobes and planted them. Haven't purchased garlic since then.

I just checked our garlic we have fresh bulbs, minced in the fridge in jar and whole cloves in a resealable bag in fridge. All from Costco from Christopher Ranch in Gilroy, Ca. My husband is Italian when a recipe calls for 4 cloves of garlic we use 8. Don’t know about keeping the virus away but don’t have worry about Vampires.

I have not bought garlic from China for many many years. And I haven't seen non-China garlic in any supermarket in many many years.
I get organic USA grown at Whole Foods or Natural Grocers and I have grown it when we had a garden or ordered it from USA growers.
I'm thinking about seeing if I can get some now from California.
I also offer NO APOLOGIES to any for this and resent being called names because I won't buy garlic or other foods from China.
Really? Name calling like third grade bullies because where people buy garlic OR prefer buying USA products? Hey, no apologies from me because I prefer USA food.

ChouChou,
What a great idea! I'll have to try that.

I also buy my garlic at Costco. I checked and it's from Argentina. It's a 2 pound bag. I keep it in the bottom crisper drawer in the fridge. I use it often and can never be without!
