That's so funny! They didn't have the naughty chair when I was coming up.  

Mama was big on using a switch. She would make sure she removed all leaves - buds etc. She wanted nothing in her way. Yet it made me respect her and see the wrong I did. I'm glad she loved me enough to want me to do right.

Yep! And we even had to pick out the switch to be used.....Lord help us if we picked out a small one, 'cause then she would pick a much bigger one.

The difference in our situation is I don't respect her for it and haven't spoken to her in over 20 years.

There are other ways to 'teach' your child than physical abuse, IMO.

I'm glad though, that it was a positive influence in your life (not being snarky here!)

Funny! My mother tells me when she put me in the chair facing the corner, I'd usually just take a nap. So this would definitely work for me.
