Yet another recall, this time it's ground beef.

Click here for the list of recalled items.

I'm guessing they are referring to those "tubes" of ground beef,  not the ones packaged in at the grocery store.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about that.

The CDC article did not state whether or not it was the tubes or packaged in the grocery store...just all ground beef produced by JBS Tolleson, Inc. was recalled

"CDC, public health and regulatory officials in several states, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service are investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Newport infections linked to ground beef produced by JBS Tolleson, Inc."

It says The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 19915” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to restaurants in the state of Utah.

It's for ground beef, beef patties & meatballs.

@house_cat - As @Nightowlz noted, this is only for meat shipped to restaurants in Utah, so the scope of the recall is limited and has already been largely addressed since consumers aren't directly involved with purchases of the meat.

I appreciate the thoroughness of the FDA and USDA in issuing warnings about potentially dangerous food products, but I do not appreciate the fact that news outlets so often misrepresent the level and type of danger involved—obviously, this instance is a big deal for some venues and business owners, but there's no need to put consumers on high alert for something that is unlikely to affect them.

@GAQShopr53 - The recall you're referring to and the one @house_cat is referring to are separate instances; the links provided are not for the Tolleson recall.

Understood and thank you @loriqvc I was aware of the Utah recall and only mentioned this recall because the recent recall did not talk about ground beef shipped to stores...just restaurants.
