Do our 'it's bad for you' posters really think that we see this recipe and think how healthy it will be to make?

LOL

debic, they don't think!  Their finger pointing and lack of real sugar diminishes their brain function.

Maybe that's why they are so miserable!

You "health food" people can go back to eating your low or no fat foods,  dangerous sugar substitutes, fake salt, tasteless foods, and leave us alone!! Not everyone has health issues!!

Collie, it's a shame that folks like that get their pleasure from trying to dictate diet rules on everyone.  Eat a hot dog, for goodness sake!

A hot dog with chili and cheese!!!!

And bacon!  Gotta have bacon Man Happy

Some people love it; some see a heart attack on a plate.  If you aren't being mean, everyone should have a right to say what they think about a recipe or dish.  It is just food.  If an opinion isn't about the person, but just about the food, it should be fair game on a discussion board.

It's the food snobs that belittle people for their likes and choices that mess things up.  And the "my way or the highway people" who can't stand an opposite opinion.

Very true Di!  It's definitely a decadent dish.

Loaded with fat and way too many calories. Decadent dish? More like unhealthy to the max.

That;s why it's Christmas Cooking! The one time of the year when pigging out is perfectly acceptable...followed by January diets!!!

My son eats really healthy and he limits bok choy and spinach because of the natural toxins in them.   You can eat too much of a lot of things.

I don't think anyone here needs a lesson on nutrition.

That's is it!  I don't know where  you work or what you do, but I'm going to join your work even if it is a house of sin, which it apparently is!!  Woman LOL

Those shrimp and grits sure are good!  We just had an overly salty ham, BBQ chicken, pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans, and cake at work.  It wasn't a very holiday meal but is was a work shin dig so we all went.

I would make some adaptations, fry up one to two pounds of thick cut, hickory smoked bacon extra crispy, drain all but a few spoonfuls of the fat, caramelized the onions and add the peppers to reduce and get flavor, then put that on bottom with a layer of bacon then the rest.  I would do bit of  butter since my gal bladder doesn't like greasy foods with that much grease in it.....bummer for me.  It all sounds so yummy for a once in a while treat, even in small amounts, as MODERATION is all about.  I also love that mac and cheese recipe above.  Talk about cheesy.  I'm just doing some with white Vermont, extra sharp cheddar and black pepper.

I have to wonder why healthy eaters would even open a thread called "Bacon Fattylicious", LOL

That mac and cheese recipe sounds divine, if I could afford it (1 cup of gruyere??)
