We only have 2 grocery stores in our small town one is Sweetbay and the other is Publics. Sweetbay's prices are generally slightly lower than Publics and they have a bigger, brighter store so I generally shop there. However, they have no discount deals at all. Publics has weekly BOGO (buy one get one free) deals so I went through the weekly ad and listed every BOGO we would use and just went to Publics - I paid $118 for $176 of food. I had to buy 120 dishwasher detergent tablets to get the deal but I saved 6.99. Got 2 large size Cheerios for $5 and 4 progresso soups for $5.I am not generally a coupon shopper but since we are just back from 4 months away I really needed to fill the pantry and I am thrilled to have saved $50 doing so. I am very carefu lnot to get tied up in buying anything I would not really use and once our neighbors get here from up north one of my neighbors and I will sometimes split the BOGO which is much better.

The only grocery store nearby that has a discount card is WinnDixie and they are about 20 miles away. I realy miss the discount card and the cash off on gas at Giant eagle in Pittsburgh.food is very expensive here plus they raise the prices for the snowbird season.

BTW - someone said peanut butter was going to go up because of the drought so I got 4 large peanut butters on BOGO. That may be a years supply.
