I don't like filet mignon so anyone here can have my share. On the other hand, I LOVE rib eye steak but I don't eat it much--too fatty. Of course, that's why it's so delicious. I prefer mine pink in the middle, but not bloody. Yum!

Rare is the best if it's a prime piece of beef. Nice sides of a baked potato and sauteed mushrooms and fresh picked green beans.

This brought back a wonderful memory from the early 60's of a restaurant in the St Louis area called, I think, Yacavellis, or something close to that. Anyway, they featured a "steak sandwich" which was a small filet served on a toast point and it came with a salad and baked potato. AND, it was $2.50. Well, that was a lot of money then, but when DH and I could save up enough, we would treat ourselves. Wow, haven't thought about this in years. Thanks, ladies, for triggering this memory!

love filets......second to ribeyes. i love pretty much any type of beef!

make mine medium rare please and i would not mind a bernaise sauce or peppercorn sauce on the side. i also love it blue cheese/horseradish encrusted.

Or creamed spinach...or that silky creamed fresh off the cob corn, like at Gullivers....mmmmmmmm...

My SO and his family are pretty much horrified by my choice; they're rare or medium rare, I cannot do it{#emotions_dlg.lol}

They insist I'm ruining the meat, I explain better ruined meat than gagging at the table. Medium well for me!
