@CrazyKittyLvr2- One of our local grocery stores has pumpkin snickeroodle muffins this week - 4 ct. for $4.99.  We're going to try them.  I love snickerdoodle cookies.  Never saw this variety before.  I hope they're good and moist.

@LizzieInSRQ   I like to use 3 different kinds of apples....  Honey Crisp, Granny Smith, and Gala.  The combination of the 3 is a tasty combination of sweet and tart.  My topping is flour, sugar and butter....and a lot of cinnamon mixed into the apples.  The grandkids love it and always want me to make it for every holiday and birthdays.  🤗

@Mombo1 those are my three favorite apples! Thats going to be so yummy! Its been years since I made one. Back then, i only used granny smith. Your combo is the way to go. I have always used a topping that included oats. I love the texture. I too like cinnamon mixed in. Mmmm lucky grandkids!

I love apples. I go apple picking every year which means I have apples and more apples and I am always looking for ways to use them. Apple butter and apples with Caramel are my favorites.. I love the combination of apples and Caramel. I like them raw like a dipping snack or apple cake with a caramel pecan dizzle makes the season for me.

Re: Apple Dumplings

[ Edited ]

@Mombo1  Apple crisp is also my favorite Fall dessert.

It sounds like you make it the same way that I do.

It is a Betty Crocker recipe that I have been using

since the 1960's. It is my family's favorite dessert.

That topping is so delicious, like a sugar cookie.

It is best warm with vanilla ice cream.

When it is cold, after refrigeration, I like it

                     topped with whipped cream.

Any crisp.. apple, cherry, pear.  My topping never turns out great. @Enufstuff  I'll look for the Betty Crocker recipe.  Not sure if I don't use enough of something.  Do many here add oats to their topping?  So many internet recipe choices I never know what is best.

I love all fall desserts.  I love sticky buns too.  I've not had an apple dumpling in probably 40 years.  Hmmm. Might need to look for one.
