Last night on our local news they had reporters at the Bloomsburg Fair in PA.

One reporter said she had an apple dumpling with cinnamon ice cream and she ate every bit.  I love apple dumplimgs and have craved one since I saw the darn news.

DD to the rescue, she just called and said a bakery 5 minutes from her office has them today.  She is going on her lunch hour, she also said she would stop and get cinnamon ice cream if I wanted.

What is your favorite fall dessert/treat?

Re: Apple Dumplings

[ Edited ]

@CrazyKittyLvr2   i love spicy fall food....pumpkin spice, apple cinnamon, I love it all.  I think the best apple dumpling I ever had was at Cracker Barrel.  Apparently it's not a regular on the menu because I've never seen them again.  If you see them, order quickly.

I dont think there is a fall dessert that I dont like.  But if I had to pick it would be homemade pumpkin pie with homemade whipped cream.

An apple cake that I make (found the recipe in an American Cancer Society book about 30+ years ago) that contains maple flavoring and a combination of apples and a sweet potato pie.  I had to make (for years) pumpkin pies for my son who recently deceased but most of my family prefer sweet potato and so do I.

@Imaoldhippie   THIS....exactly the same way

@LizzieInSRQ   Apple crisp is my favorite.  I am making it this weekend for a family party.

@CrazyKittyLvr2   Fortunately I live in Bloomsburg and have had the apple dumplings.  They are amazing.  I could easily gain five pounds in one day eating the many delicious things offered at the fair.  🤗
