No way would I pay $242 for 2 Prime NY Strip steaks. I don't think anyone wants to eat an 18 oz steak to begin with?
Aldi's just had Choice Prime Rib for $8.99 per lb.
Since they said beef would be at it's highest prices this year DH bought 2 of the Prime Ribs.
He cut 15 ribeye steaks out of them. We now have steaks for summer. I know we cannot buy them at about $8.50 per steak?
We don't generally eat the whole steak so we can both get 2 meals when we eat them.
We have bought Prime beef before. While it is good it's not worth that price IMO.
You can buy 1/4 beef for $800. Of course if you buy half or whole it's less money.

The steaks I buy from IGA fit my budget much better, and taste just fine. If I spend $200 in the grocery store, I better be pushing a cart with multiple bags to my car!

@charsha - I think/hope you will be very pleased with the Heartland Fresh chicken! We've purchased it multiple times since it first came to QVC, and we've even had it on auto-delivery at times because we really enjoy it. There are all kinds of ways to prepare it and the quality is great. The pricetag is a bit high, but we have felt it was worthwhile for us. We've never found a similar product elsewhere that was truly comparable in taste and quality, so if you're like us and want this style of chicken without the hassle of preparing it, you should be all set. Definitely let everyone know what you think after you try it... ![]()

@wagirl wrote:I didn't see that but sounds like that guy--am not a fan at all--kind of a pompous a$$, IMO---I bought a few waygu steaks from a local cattle rancher --- maybe 2 of them cost me $50 for all and they were at least 1 lb each---I split them between DD and I for a dinner. Also got waygu ground beef for $13 a lb as well---they were tasty but I don't make it a habit---was for a special meal I think.
That is the PERFECT description of GZ. Can't stand him.
